Nevada unemployment tax (SUTA)
Nevada employers pay state unemployment tax on the first $43,700 of each employee's wages in 2026. A new employer starts at 3%, and experienced employers pay from 0.3% to 5.4% depending on their layoff history.
New employers in every industry pay 3%, including the 0.05% Career Enhancement Program.
Nevada also charges most employers the Modified Business Tax: 1.17% of the business's total wages above $50,000 a quarter, less health benefits it pays. It is figured on the whole payroll, not each employee, so the calculator leaves it out.
